Secret to WC comps is to spread players across teams and anlso to think about which teams will go the furthest. Is you have a lot of players from 2 teams who are destined to meet after the group stages, then you are going to loose all of the platers from 1 team straight away so think about that. Re Totti, I don't know if he is playing, I assume so. I have picked him and Nesta in 1 of about 5 comps I'm in. Van Nistleroy and Van Persie are a safe ish bet but I don't think the Dutch will go terribly far.

totti is recovering from surgery to his leg but he played a couple of matches in the last weeks(not the whole thing though). he's not at his 100% so he will
probably alternate with del piero(who isn't at his best too!).
i think vieri will not be in germany (gilardino and toni will have the duty to score some goals...we hope [img]smile.gif[/img] ) but i'm not sure as i haven't seen yet the list of all the players who will be in germany. maybe vieri could be there as a reserve but i don't think so.
i don't know about iaquinta(i think he will be there as a reserve too).
also our backline has some problems as nesta and zambrotta have physical problems...italy will have hard times as a lot of very good players are not in a perfect shape at the moment.
...not to mention the incredible scandal which is involving juventus and probably will involve other major teams as milan(it seems-actually it's a pretty sure thing- that juventus had some referees that "helped" it in a lot of matches). so the psycologichal situation of some of the players is not good too.

Well, I have to admit, that right now I am in a softball league and a soccer league. Softball playes on weeknights, and yes, it is based on the beer afterwards. We don't even go to the bar though. We have 2 people bring a case each for each game, and have a little party after each game. It's pretty damn fun actually, and yes, it is the lob the ball underhand type. A lot of good players though. Then, soccer on the weekends is much more competitive. My back is hurting so I missed the last couple games, but hopefully be back this weekend. We have one on Saturday, and one on Sunday.

Anyway, I have a question for you Italians (or anyone really). We had our fantasy World Cup draft tonight, and I drafted quite a few from Italy. Is Totti playing? I have him, and also have Iaquinta and Vierri. Our league is only based on goals scored, so any insight on these guys would be great.

Also picked quite a few from The Netherlands and Spain.

Thanks for the info. It would seem that I'm not looking too good then. LOL. I was 3rd pick, and Ronaldo and Adriano were the first 2 picks, so I didn't want to pick another Brazilian (Ronaldhino), so I went with Owen. I think England has a decent shot. Most think Germany and Argentina will be in the final 4 also. I never thought about who may play each other out of pool play, because basically the US doesn't have that info available anywhere.
